This team advanced through district, regional and state competitions and were named the state champion team in the Agricultural Issues Career Development Event at the Michigan FFA State Convention in March. Their issue is titled, “Should the Child Labor Regulations in Agriculture be Updated?” Following state convention, they were invited to give their presentation to the Animal Health Division of Pfizer, Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI on May 29, 2012. While at Pfizer the students were able to tour the state of the art research farm. Pfizer Animal Health was the sponsor of the Michigan Agricultural Issues CDE. The team has been working hard to prepare for the National FFA Convention and their goal is to earn a gold and perform on the finals stage at nationals.
